The design of TOST is inspired by a balance of contrasts, a slightly industrial aesthetic softened by warmth and comfort. Exposed materials and clean lines nod to modern café design, while warm lighting, and thoughtful textures make the space feel welcoming and approachable. Gentle touches, such as subtle nods to motorcycles and carefully chosen objects, reflect our personality without overwhelming the environment. Occasional opportunities to be informative, through displays or small details, invite curiosity and conversation.

Respect for the Welsh language and local culture is embedded throughout. Signage and elements of décor honour the area’s heritage, reinforcing a sense of place and community.

Our counter takes inspiration from wine and cocktail bars, using subtle mirrors and carefully curated product displays to create layers of interest and depth. It’s designed to be functional while showcasing our offerings in a way that feels considered and approachable.

We also embrace the rich history of Llanwrtyd Wells. The town’s fame began with “The Stinking Well” - a sulphur spring that drew thousands of visitors seeking its reputed health benefits. Its popularity helped establish local shops, hotels, pubs, cafés, and even a train station, and providing access to the surrounding Cambrian Mountains.
