You may not consider there to be a meaningful difference between a café and a coffee shop, or feel that the distinction is particularly relevant. However, we felt it was worth exploring the perceived differences between the two.

In Wales (and the wider UK), the distinction is not a legal one, but is largely shaped by vibe, menu, and customer expectations.

Over the past month we’ve made great progress with our little café. The front of house is taking shape, and we’re now turning to the kitchen with new flooring going down and fresh equipment arriving — including a new espresso barista coffee machine and specialist sourdough kit. Next up will be the outside: a fresh lick of paint and our new signage.
